What is the 7CommGames app?
The 7CommGames app and website offer more Commonwealth Games coverage than ever before. Additional live event channels, long form highlights, exclusive interviews and features. It’s all available live, on the go, at work, or cast to the big screen in the lounge room.
What content is available on the app?
You will have access to:
  • Seven's live coverage from the Gold Coast on Channel 7, 7TWO and 7mate
  • Watch every medal event live and in full
  • Dedicated coverage of Aussie team events including Basketball, Netball and Hockey
  • Selected on-demand content, including highlights and interviews
  • Event HQ for interactive results, medal tables and event schedules

How can I get 7CommGames?
The7CommGames app is free and available across Android and iOS. You can download from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Other available devices include: Web – 7CommGames.com.au, Chromecast, Fetch TV and Apple TV.

* Data Charges apply except for eligible Optus mobile customers (ads, authentication, and app analytics are excluded and will incur data charges).

Do I need to set up an account to use the 7CommGames app or website?
No, you do not need to set up an account to view the content on the 7CommGames app or website. If you are in the app you can choose to "skip" the sign in process; however, if you want to upgrade to Premium you must first create or sign in to 7CommGames using a Seven account.  
How can I get an account?
You can sign up by email or by using your Facebook or Google account in the app or on the website at 7CommGames.com.au. Once you have created an account, we will send you an email confirming that your account is now active.
What do I do if I forget my 7CommGames password?
If you forget your password, you can reset it by requesting a password reset at https://7commgames.com.au/account/forgot


Can I download content to my mobile device?
No, this is a streaming service only so download is not available. Alternatively, you can enjoy on-demand highlights during the Commonwealth Games in the Highlights section of the 7CommGames app and website.
Can I receive notifications of upcoming events and news?
Yes, iOS and Android app users can choose to receive push notifications. You can select this feature during the sign-up process or in the More section of the app. You can also turn push notifications off within the More section of the app if you would prefer that we do not send you reminders.
Will subtitles be available on the 7CommGames?
Sorry, subtitles and closed captions will not be available on the app or website.
Will 7CommGames be available in different languages?
7CommGames will be available in English only.


What can I find in the Highlights section?
The Highlights section brings you curated on-demand videos of the Commonwealth Games including the best moments of the day's action, behind-the-scenes footage and athlete profiles.
The video/audio quality on the 7CommGames app is not optimal, what can I do about this?
The website and apps use adaptive streaming technology to automatically adjust the quality of your streaming to suit your internet speed. For an optimal streaming experience, we recommend a minimum internet data speed of at least 3Mbps or above.

To check the speed of your internet, please visit speedtest.net. This site allows you to see your download and upload speeds; the higher the number, the better the speed. If the issues are consistent, it may be worth contacting your internet service provider. Below are the Internet download speed availability recommendations per stream: 
  • 0.8 Megabits per second - Minimum required broadband connection speed
  • 3.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for SD quality

Is the streaming on 7CommGames apps unmetered?
If you are an Optus customer on an eligible post-paid mobile plan you can stream Seven’s LIVE and Video on Demand event coverage* of 7CommGames “data free” on your mobile or mobile broadband service via the 7CommGames app in SD (Premium will also be streamed in SD when on mobile data, HD available on WiFi and charges will be as per your home broadband plan). * Content which will not be data free is the following:
  • Advertisements that are displayed when starting a stream in the 7CommGames app. These can be video ads or banner ads
  • Any analytics sent from the streaming services to understand your video preferences and usage
  • Authentication, for example, when the service confirms your login
For all other customers streaming is metered and you will incur standard data charges as per your mobile/home internet plan. The 7CommGames app use adaptive bitrate streaming that automatically adjusts the quality of the video based on the quality of your internet connection.
How much data will be used when streaming?
For standard definition streams will use approximately 1.5 gig per hour and for high definition approximately 3 gig per hour.*  

* Please be aware the amount of data used can also vary based on the quality of the video and your internet connection speed.

How are you helping me monitor my data usage when I have streams open?
In the More section within the Android and iOS apps you can opt to turn off cellular streaming when WiFi is not available. Premium users who have access to HD streams can also opt to turn off HD cellular streaming when WiFi is not available.
Is it possible to rewind live streams?
No, you are unable to rewind live streams in 7CommGames, however you can view on-demand highlights from the event for free in the Highlights section across Android, iOS, Chromecast, Web, Fetch TV and Apple TV.
Is Seven's event coverage broadcast in HD?
Seven's broadcast channels will be transmitted in SD. If you would like to view live and on-demand streams in HD you can upgrade to Premium within the Android or iOS apps or on the website.

Note: Apple TV and Fetch TV users will only have access to live and on-demand streams in SD.

Why do we need to locate our viewers?
7CommGames uses your location to determine which localised broadcast of 7, 7TWO, 7mate is streamed to your device so the broadcast schedule and content is the same on your television as on your device.
Why is the stream on my device delayed when compared to my TV?
Some viewers may experience delays of up to 110 seconds behind broadcast when viewed on smartphones, tablets and computers. This is specific to the device you are using and may not always happen. We are working with our provider to improve the stream latency.
What are the minimum requirements to access the 7CommGames app?
You must be located in Australia and be over the age of 15, or otherwise have a parent's permission to use the service. You must be using a supported device and for optimal streaming we recommend a minimum available internet data speed of at least 3Mbps or above. 
Can I watch the 7CommGames app on my TV?
You can watch 7CommGames on Fetch TV and Apple TV apps.*

Chromecast is available for Android and iOS users, with native AirPlay to Apple TV also available for iOS.**

* Premium content is not directly available through the Fetch TV or Apple TV apps
** Casting via the native app requires a minimum of iOS 10.1 or Android 5.1. 

Casting requires a Wi-Fi connection and charges will be as per your home broadband plan.

Is the 7CommGames app available on PlayStation or Xbox?
Unfortunately 7CommGames is not available on these gaming consoles.

The 7CommGames apps will be available on supported iOS and Android devices. These supported mobile devices include:

On how many devices can I watch 7CommGames?
There is no limit on the number of devices you can enjoy 7CommGames on as a free user.


What are the other ways to watch Channel Seven?
The 7CommGames iOS and Android apps and website will give you the most comprehensive coverage but there are other options to view our broadcast channel coverage:   

On TV - You will be able to watch our Event coverage LIVE and FREE on your TV by tuning into 7, 7TWO or 7mate and channel 70 in HD. 

Internet Streaming - Watch on 7plus.com.au or the 7Plus apps. Both contain live streams of 7, 7TWO and 7mate and Seven’s live coverage of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

Why am I not able to watch 7CommGames in my area?
Our event coverage is for Australian viewers only. If you reside outside of Australia or have an IP address that is not Australian you will not be able to watch our coverage.
What can I access for free*?
As a free 7CommGames user, you get access to the live streams of Seven's broadcast channels 7, 7TWO, 7mate, plus selected additional live event streams in SD and curated video highlights. You also have access to Event HQ for interactive results, medal tables and event schedules.

You can upgrade to Premium for $19.99 to Access All Areas and features of 7CommGames. Access more sport and more choice with up to 20 live event channels across the day as well as full replays of the biggest and best events, exclusive short form interviews and features. Activate up to 8 devices and you’ll also get to viewing faster with less commercial content, and see it all in brilliant HD.

How can I upgrade to a Premium account?
There are two ways to upgrade to Premium: 

In-app: you can upgrade easily using in-app native payment:

iOS Native Payment – Once you have selected ‘Go Premium for $19.99, you can use Touch ID or enter your iTunes password to confirm your payment within the 7CommGames iOS app.
Android Native Payment - Password confirmation enables you to use your Google Play account to make purchases within the 7CommGames app. You will always be asked to confirm your in-app purchase. 

By web: you upgrade using either - 
1. PayPal
2. MasterCard or Visa card payment 

Unfortunately, we do not support Premium access on Fetch TV and Apple TV apps.


Does data-free streaming still apply for Premium as an Optus customer?
Optus restricts data transfer rates on data free services to 1.5mbps (SD video bandwidth) and Premium customers will only be able to stream in HD on WiFi connections on these mobile plans.
If I have been granted a Premium Pass Code, how can I get access to Premium?
If you have a Premium code, please go to our website at: 7commgames.com.au/premiumpass. If you have not signed in, you must either sign in or create an account and then select:
  1. Go Premium
  2. Select: Have a Premium Pass? Redeem Here
  3. Enter your Pass ID


Is my Premium account transferable?
No, unfortunately you cannot transfer your Premium access to a different user. If you are having trouble accessing your account please get in touch with our friendly customer support team at: support.7commgames.com.au/contact


I had Premium access to OlympicsOn7, will I also have Premium access to 7CommGames?
Each Premium offering is unique to the event it is purchased for and cannot be transferred between events.
I had access to a Premium account, but I am unable to use premium features anymore. What can I do?

What is your refund policy?
In circumstances where there is a major failure with the Premium Service or where the Premium Service fails to be of acceptable quality, customers may be eligible for a refund and can request one via the online form found at our support page. You must have the purchase invoice that we emailed to you handy and submit the reason for your request. We will use best endeavours to respond within 24 hours.

Your claim will be assessed, and if your claim is eligible, we will process a refund to your credit card or PayPal account within 10 business days, subject to any delays caused by your credit card provider or PayPal.

We do not provide refunds for change of mind or where technical issues occur that are beyond our reasonable control, such as issues with your device, unsuitability of your device or broadband plan, or network congestion.

Will I see ads when viewing content as a premium user?
As a premium user you will see less commercial content as there are no digital ads at the start of each stream and only advertising from our broadcast partners within a stream.

Why am I still seeing display ads after upgrading to Premium?
If you have upgraded to Premium and are still seeing display ads within the app, scroll to the top of the ‘Live’ screen and pull down to refresh the page. Please ensure you are signed in on every device you are using. If you are still seeing ads please contact us if the problem continues. Note that certain sponsored content will appear for both free and premium users.

What personal details do you collect?
As part of the sign in process you only need to provide your name and email address. It is optional to share your gender and age details. Alternatively, you can also sign in using your Facebook or Google credentials.


Why do you need my email address?
We require your email address so that if you choose to upgrade to a 7CommGames Premium account we can validate your purchase and send the relevant tax invoice. In addition to validating a Premium upgrade we also need your email address so that we can contact you to reset your 7CommGames password in case you forget it.
